When I rescued Willow she was an unruly 11-month-old German shepherd and there were days that I wondered,  “What have I done?”  Willow is my first dog and I really had no idea how to handle her unwanted behaviours. However, I made a commitment to give her everything she needs even though I work long shifts. To me that meant ensuring she received strong leadership, socialization, proper training and lots of exercise. Finding Puppy Passions has given me peace of mind. I know that while I am away, my dog is in good hands, getting all that she needs. Willow is always tired, contented and well behaved when I come home. When I am with her, I often don't know the correct course of action for unwanted behaviours but I can always count on Greg to help problem solve – he is always just a phone call, text message or email away. He took the time to tailor a plan specific for Willow and me. Janis   Greg, I can’t thank you enough for your help with making Jasmine, my Labrador retriever, the well-behaved, happy dog she is today.  When I met you she was two years old and difficult-to-control.  Sure, I’d taken her to puppy training so she knew the basics such as sit, stay and down, but you taught me about consistency and how to teach her that I am the pack leader without using any negativity or intimidation.  You said, “You are her leader and therefore you make all the decisions.”  Well the change in her (and me) was almost immediate and she became a much more pleasant puppy to be around. It’s been almost two years since we met and throughout that time, you’ve been more than helpful with providing support and pointers as to how I can deal with ongoing or new issues. I recently took her to a crowded, noisy music festival in downtown Waterloo and received tons of very positive comments about how well behaved she was.  I don’t believe I would have ever been able to do something like that without the training, education and support you provided. As for the days you take her out to exercise her … I know that she’s in good hands and is getting a full workout.  And I get to relax when I get home from work because my puppy has received her exercise for the day.  And an added bonus … the laughs I get listening to her snore, oblivious to the world around her after a hard day of puppy play.   I’ve been fortunate to see you around many dogs and it’s always a joy to watch.  Your infinite patience, gentleness and care for them are obvious and I believe the dogs’ sense this.  This must be how you get the immediate and amazing results you do.  (I’m reminded of the time you quite quickly convinced a Rottweiler puppy to give up the dead squirrel he had picked up.)
