Norma Jeanne

In 1992, Norma Jeanne opened the
first positive reinforcement
training facility in the
Tri-Cities/Guelph area. With every other training school
using physical punishment, Norma
Jeanne pioneered a better way
for you and your dog.
Graduates of Puppy Power
performed with the same
excellence and precision as
graduates from the other
schools, the big difference was
they also performed with wagging
tails. These training
schools are now closed and
replaced by graduates of Norma
Jeanne's Canine Communication
Studies certification course for
professional dog training and behaviour therapy.
Norma Jeanne is a teacher,
author, lecturer, columnist,
mentor trainer for the Animal
Behaviour College of California,
Founder and Chair of the
International Positive Dog
Training Association, member and
former editor for the Canadian
Association of Professional Pet
Dog Trainers. Dog trainers
have come from as far away as
Italy to study with Norma
Jeanne, and she has counseled
clients as far as China.
She has taught over 100 dog
trainers in 3 countries, 9
provinces and 15 states,
including trainers teaching
classes in 10 training
facilities across KW, Cambridge
and Guelph. Norma Jeanne
continues to upgrade her skills
numerous times per year, to
ensure state of the art tools
and techniques are available for
you and your dog, as well as her
professional students and
graduates.

This course offers the most fun you
can have training your dog and
without a doubt, there is no better
trained dog than a freestyle
dog! Using a combination of training
cues and tricks, you will learn to
work with your dog as a team, as
well as the rest of your class as a
group, to perform a choreographed
routine to music. For those
who would like to take it a step
further, you are welcome to join our
freestyle team after graduation, to
learn new moves, create a customized
performance of your own, and perform
at public events with the rest of
the team.

Canine Confidence Building
Clinics
Turn
your shy or fearful dog into a
confident dog that likes to play
with other dogs. These
sessions are designed for shy or
timid dogs, to give them the
opportunity to learn the social
skills needed to play with one
another in a safe and
non-threatening environment.
It provides the opportunity to build
the confidence needed to lead a rich
and rewarding life when interacting
or playing with their own kind.
When all the dogs are nervous and no
dog is forcing themselves on
another, each dog becomes
comfortable and relaxes more
quickly. When this happens,
they begin investigating one another
and the play and learning begins.
Many dogs have graduated from shy
dog socials as confident, happy,
friendly and playful dogs.
Since 97% of bites are fear bites,
these socials are not only valuable,
but necessary to the survival of
many dogs.
