CCS Consists Of Three Modules:
1. Professional Dog Training Module
The Professional Dog Training module will teach you how to train dogs. It will teach you how to lure, capture, shape and create new behaviours and put them on cue. It will also teach you how to solve dog-training problems.
2. Professional Canine Behaviour Therapy Module
There will be puppies and dogs in your classes and private consultations with behaviour problems such as puppy biting, jumping up and housebreaking along with a myriad of other problems. Training dogs is not just about putting behaviours on cue, it also involves helping your clients overcome behaviour problems. There is rarely a class that I teach whether it’s the first week of puppy training or the last week of advanced class where I’m not asked about at least one behaviour problem. A good dog trainer is also well versed in canine behaviour and solving behaviour problems. Our Canine Behaviour Therapy course will prepare you to answer all of their questions and help them solve their problems.
3. Professional Canine Aggression Therapy Module
We’ve often had puppies come in to their first week of puppy training shaking with fear. Unfortunately, fear accounts for most dog bites. So unless we can nurture confidence in these pups before the end of the socialization period, they are likely to grow into anti-social, reactive and/or aggressive dogs. By understanding canine aggression we can intervene immediately and turn these potentially aggressive dogs into dogs with resilience and confident temperaments.
Many dog trainers choose to not work with aggressive dogs and instead refer them to other trainers and this is perfectly acceptable. However, every dog trainer should understand canine aggression in order to prevent it and effectively intervene in its early stages. Our Canine Aggression Therapy course will teach you about identification, prevention, intervention and rehabilitation, and for those who choose to work with aggressive dogs, we will teach you how to stay safe while helping your clients nurture trust and new behaviours in their dogs.
